SMOSH Beanie Free Pattern-Adult

My niece Regina likes SMOSH.com.  She asked me if I can make a beanie with a SMOSH logo. I told her I will try. the beanie part is easy, but the logo took me an hour to figure out how to make.



This one has a SMOSH sewn with a back stitch



This on has only the logo. That is my eyes!

Here is the pattern:

You will need:

Monaco acrylic 4-ply worsted weight yarn or any 4-ply worsted weight yarn ( 3 white and 1 black color)

Size H/8-5.00MM hook

Size F/5-3.75MM hook

Darning needle

Stitch Marker ( you can use scrap yarn, small hair pin, or small safety pin)

* The beanie  is worked in a continuous round.

ABBREVIATIONS

ch-chain

hdc-half double crochet

sc-single crochet

Round 1: ch 3, 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook (10 sts)

Round 2: 2 hdc in each hdc (20 sts)

Round 3: (1 hdc in first hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) Repeat 10 times. (30 sts)

Round 4: ( 1 hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) Repeat 10 times. (40 sts)

Round 5: ( 1 hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) Repeat 10 times. (50 sts)

Round 6: ( 1 hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) Repeat 10 times. (60 sts)

Round 7: ( 1 hdc in next 5 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) Repeat 10 times. (70 sts)

Round 8 ( 1 hdc in next 6 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) Repeat 10 times. (80 sts)

Round 9- up to desired lenght ( approximately 9 inches from top to bottom)- 1 hdc around. (80 sts)


SMOSH LOGO (make 2)

Row 1: ch 10, turn

Row 2: sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next 4 ch, 3 sc in 5th chain, 1 sc in next 4 ch.

ATTACHING THE LOGO:


  1. Sew the two arrows next to each other using a darn needle and black yarn.
  2. Then using the same black yarn and darning needle, back stitch 3 horizontal lines in the middle of the two arrows. (See picture)
Optional: 

You can sew on the beanie the SMOSH with black yarn, darning needle using a back stitch.
